Cold Springs Animal Hospital is Hiring a Kennel Technician!

  • Status: Full-time
  • Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
  • Schedule: Weekends required, Mondays and Fridays 7:30-6, Tues and Thurs half-day PMs

The Kennel Technician is responsible for the daily care and comfort of boarding, hospitalized, and grooming pets. This role includes feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring the animals, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. The technician should demonstrate compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to handle dogs and cats of all temperaments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care, including feeding, walking, and enrichment.
  • Walk dogs for exercise and elimination, clean litterboxes for cats
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas
  • Cleaning and stripping/resetting stalls when needed, spreading manure
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including laundry and dishes
  • Follow biosecurity and infection control protocols
  • Provide basic grooming and bathing support when needed
  • Monitor animal behavior and report concerns to veterinary staff
  • Assist with basic handling and restraint for treatments or exams
  • Administer prescribed medications or treatments under direct supervision
  • Maintain accurate records of care and behavior observations
  • Support a safe, low-stress environment for all pets
  • Assist with check-in and discharge of boarding pets
  • Provide updates to the team regarding client concerns or pet needs
  • Help maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere for pet owners
