Job summary

AmeriVet is seeking a kennel technician and store employee for our Point Loma boarding and daycare facility. You’ll feed, medicate, bathe, and supervise dogs and cats, while assisting front desk staff and ensuring clean, safe kennels.

We value energetic team players with excellent customer service, cash handling experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Some weekend work may be required; benefits include health coverage and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and upbeat personality.
• Cash register/cash-handling experience.
• Experience with animals. Comfortable around large groups of dogs and cats.
• Must be available to work some holidays and weekends on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and medicating boarding animals.
• Bathing dogs and cats including nail trims and ear cleaning.
• Rotating dogs to the backyard and supervising playtime outside.
• Off-premise dog walking and cleaning/sanitizing kennel and cat cages.
• Administering vaccines and checking in/out boarding/daycare animals.
• Assisting front desk/store staff when necessary.

Boarding / Kennel Position

Pet Boarding / Daycare facility in Point Loma looking for kennel tech and store employee. We’re looking for an energetic team player to join our crew. This is a great opportunity to gain more experience in all aspects of pet care, nutrition and customer service.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills and upbeat personality
• cash register/cash-handling experience
• You must be available to work some holidays. Absolutely required:
• Experience with animals. Must be comfortable in large groups of dogs, comfortable handling cats, etc.
• Reliable transportation
• Be able to work both Saturdays and Sundays on once - twice a month.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Positive attitude and pay very close attention to detail.
• AviMark software/pet food knowledge a plus

Job Duties

• Feeding and medicating boarding animals
• Bathing dogs and cats including nail trims, ear cleaning, etc.
• Rotating dogs to backyard throughout the day
• Supervising doggie playtime outside
• Off-premise dog walking
• Clean/sanitizing dog runs and cat cages
• Administering vaccines
• Cleaning/sanitizing kennel and outside area
• Checking-in and out boarding/daycare/grooming animals
• Assisting front desk/store staff when necessary
