Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is seeking a Full-Time Kennel Technician (Pet Pro) to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. You will provide hands-on care for dogs and cats in daycare and boarding, help with cleaning, feeding, and enrichment, and document pet notes for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must love dogs and cats and be comfortable with all breeds.
  • Gentle, patient, and safety-focused in all interactions.
  • Able to supervise multiple dogs and prevent conflicts in playgroups.
  • Strong documentation habits for care notes and communications.
  • Friendly and clear when speaking with pet parents.
  • Reliable, punctual and team-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Care for dogs and cats in daycare and boarding.
  • Walk dogs and supervise playgroups.
  • Feed pets and administer medications as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize pet rooms and common areas.
  • Monitor pet health, behavior, and interactions.
  • Document care notes and communicate with leadership.
  • Provide enrichment activities and comforting for shy guests.

We’re looking for a Full-Time Kennel Technician (internally called a Pet Pro) to join our team and care for our furry guests at their home away from home.

What You’ll Do

As a Pet Pro, you’ll be hands-on in both daycare and boarding, providing safe, loving care while keeping our resort clean and welcoming.

Your day may include:

  • Walking dogs and supervising playgroups
  • Feeding pets and administering medications
  • Cleaning and sanitizing pet rooms and common areas
  • Monitoring pet health, behavior, and interactions
  • Documenting care notes and communicating with leadership
  • Engaging pets in enrichment activities like fetch, walks, and basic obedience games
  • Comforting shy guests and managing high-energy groups
  • Laundry and general facility upkeep
  • And yes — you’ll scoop poop, clean messes, o home with fur on your clothes, and probably get plenty of sloppy kisses.

You must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 lbs
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures
  • Handle large and small dogs confidently
  • Work weekends and holidays
  • Be comfortable around pet messes and cleaning products
