Job summary

Four Paws Pet Hotel & Resort in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will provide patient husbandry, boarding care, and housekeeping, with meals, medications, and walks for boarding patients, and oversee dogs in daycare.

Detailed notes and prompt communication with the veterinary team are required. We offer a full-time schedule Monday–Wednesday 11am–7pm and Sat–Sun 6am–2pm, with holiday availability.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred.
• Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background.
• A genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing.
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision.
• Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques.
• Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of a hands-on animal care role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient husbandry, boarding care, and general housekeeping throughout the facility.

• Maintain documentation of observations and report concerns promptly to the veterinary team.
• Monitor kennels, common areas, treatment spaces, and other facility areas; ensure cleanliness and stocking of supplies.
• Monitor facility cameras to help ensure safety and alert team members as needed.

Job description

Four Paws Pet Hotel & Resort is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our Junor Staff Member team is dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and staff.

In this role, you will be responsible for patient husbandry, boarding care, and general housekeeping throughout the facility. You will provide meals, medications as directed and walks for boarding patients; oversee dogs in daycare; and closely monitor patients for any medical, behavioral, or environmental concerns. You’ll maintain detailed documentation of your observations and communicate any concerns promptly to the veterinary team.

You will also help ensure kennels, common areas, treatment spaces, and other facility areas are clean, sanitized, organized, and well stocked with necessary supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring facility cameras to help ensure the safety and well-being of boarding and daycare patients, identifying potential concerns and alerting the appropriate team members when needed.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 15.16 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position availability needed on Monday - Wednesday from 11am - 7pm and Saturday and Sunday 6am - 2pm.
  • This position requires availability to work on holidays as part of our regular staffing schedule.
