Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain is seeking an experienced kennel assistant to join our busy, 5-doctor team. We provide medical, Urgent Care/Sick visits, and surgical services, including laser surgery, and we offer a large boarding facility, retail, and grooming.

We have served the community since 1989, with a very busy boarding facility. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a small animal practice, can handle dogs and cats, and administer medications.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a small animal general practice setting.
• Avimark database experience.
• Excellent communication and written skills, as well as customer relations skills
• Be able to multitask and keep a calm environment
• Canine pet handling - Cat knowledge and handling
• Preventive care knowledge

Responsabilités

• Provide care for dogs and cats and maintain clean housing areas.
• Monitor patient status and document care in medical records.
• Assist with medications, treatments, and client communication.
• Support fast-paced boarding and grooming operations as needed.

The ideal AHSM Kennel Attendant should have 5 years of experience in boarding and animal care and handling. With knowledge of behavior and the ability to administer medications. Be able to work with Dogs and Cats and maintain thier areas in a very clean manner. Must have a good work ethic, be on time, and be able to do a lot of movement and withstand loud noise.

Provides an excellent and expeditious client experience; Is aware of patient needs and the correct monitoring and documentation of all care, and communicates with the treatment area when needed. Always has the well-being of the animal and its treatment in focus and keeps the team aware of all information. Good communication and documentation skills.

Starting wage is based on experience.

• Based on the candidate's knowledge $14 to $16 an hour.

Days/hours

M-F 645am-6pm / and every other Saturday and Sunday.

Occasional holidays are a must.

Schedules are made out 30 days in advance and are 4 10-hour shifts.
