Job summary

Applebrook Inn Veterinary Center is seeking a dedicated Kennel and Dog Daycare Attendant to care for dogs and cats, feed, bathe, exercise, and assist with veterinary visits in a mostly off-leash kennel setting.

Must be available weekends and some holidays; experience in kennel or daycare preferred. Able to lift 50+ pounds and spend time outdoors. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kennel or dog daycare environment.
• Knowledge of canine behavior and health (preferred).
• Team player with reliable attendance.
• Applicants must be able to work weekends.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Willingness to spend extended periods outdoors.
• Effective communication, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, feeding, and general care for overnight and day guests.
• Provide supervision for 1-on-1 time and group play activities.
• Closely monitor all dogs and report concerns to supervisors and veterinary staff.
• Interact with clients, assisting in arrival/departure and providing updates during pet stays.
• Outdoor property maintenance including lawn care and snow removal as needed.
• Assist in other duties as assigned by management.

Applebrook Inn Veterinary Center is a full service animal care facility offering veterinary care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and training located on 8 acres in West Chester, PA. We're looking for a professional and reliable Kennel and Dog Daycare Attendant with a strong love of animals and a genuine interest in working with dogs and cats. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for feeding, cleaning, bathing and exercising dogs and cats, and may be asked to assist with veterinary visits. We are a predominantly off-leash kennel environment so comfort with dogs is a must. A successful Kennel Assistant will be dedicated to the care of companion animals, and will enjoy helping customers make informed decisions about their pets.

Must haves

• Experience in a kennel or dog daycare environment. Stable or relevant experience welcome.
• Knowledge of canine behavior and health (preferred but not required)
