Overview
A warm and thoughtful family on the Upper East Side is seeking a reliable, caring, and proactive part-time nanny to support their growing family. With a toddler turning 2 this summer and a second baby due in late October, the family is looking for someone who brings warmth, strong communication skills, and excellent judgment to the role. This position is ideal for a nanny who genuinely enjoys child development, understands the importance of structure and flexibility, and is ready to be a supportive and steady presence in a family’s life.
The family values consistency and trust, and they are looking for someone who is emotionally attuned, dependable, and eager to build a long-term relationship. The role focuses primarily on childcare, with light household support, and has the potential to expand over time as the family’s needs evolve.
Schedule:
- Mondays: 8am - 6pm
- Weekends: Saturday shift (9am – 1pm) with the possibility for one additional shift, but will be guaranteeing 10 hours of pay for weekends regardless if you worked only the one Saturday shift.
- Initial Schedule is subject to potential adjustment in October 2025
Start Date: Mid to late June (flexible to start sooner)
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving care for one toddler (age 2 in July), with a second infant joining the family in October
- Support developmentally appropriate play, both structured and free-form
- Coordinate and attend playdates; foster social development
- Plan engaging activities (outdoor time, reading, crafts, etc.), with minimal screen time
- Prepare healthy snacks and simple meals as needed
- Diapering, dressing, and managing basic hygiene routines
- Assisting with potty training the toddler when she turns 2
- Maintain a tidy child environment (toys, dishes, etc.)
- Assist with one load of family laundry on the weekend
- Keep open and proactive communication with parents about the day and any notable changes
- Adapt support for infant care routines, including scheduling and sleep training, as baby grows
- Occasional flexibility for weekend travel or additional help (not required, but appreciated)
Qualifications
- Warm, kind, and deeply invested in child development and well-being
- Highly dependable with a strong sense of accountability and punctuality
- Experienced with both toddlers and infants; confident in routines and baby milestones
- Skilled communicator—proactive, respectful, and clear
- Flexible and open to feedback; not rigid in caregiving approach
- Energetic enough to keep up with an active toddler while maintaining safety and boundaries
- Passport holder is a plus (potential for occasional travel)
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Minimum 5 years of recent nanny experience, including with infants and toddlers
- English fluency
- Must be willing to be paid on the books
- Must be COVID-conscious and up-to-date on relevant vaccinations
Salary and Benefits
- $35–$45/hour (commensurate with experience)
- Guaranteed hours
- 8 paid days off(personal, vacation, sick)
- Paid major holidays when they fall on scheduled workdays
