Job summary

Heritage Business Group in Salem, OR seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead multiple residential building projects from planning to completion. You will oversee budgets, schedules, resources, and quality control, while coordinating with architects, subcontractors, and clients on site.

Candidates should read plans, manage risk and change orders, ensure safety compliance, and maintain thorough project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with architects, designers, and partners.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate goals and expectations with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage risks, change orders, and budget impacts with approvals.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Serve as primary contact for clients and subcontractors; provide updates.
  • Review invoices and manage project costs; monitor resource use.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure quality and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction practices, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and technology.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel regularly between job sites, offices, and client meetings.
  • Ability to walk active construction sites, navigate uneven terrain, climb stairs/ladders occasionally, and perform inspections requiring bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to read plans, blueprints, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to effectively use computers, tablets, phones, and other office equipment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and meet company insurance requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Community & Business Development
  • Maintain relationships with architects, designers, industry partners, and community organizations.
  • Participate in networking opportunities and identify new business connection opportunities.
Project Planning & Management
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and timelines.
  • Coordinate project goals, deliverables, and expectations with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage project risks, change orders, and budget impacts while ensuring approvals are obtained when required.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
  • Provide regular updates regarding schedule, budget, progress, and project changes.
  • Foster strong working relationships and deliver an exceptional client experience.
Resource & Financial Management
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and vendor services.
  • Review and approve project-related invoices and manage project costs.
  • Monitor resource utilization and effectively manage multiple active projects.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, permits, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, contracts, reports, drawings, and permits.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues or construction deficiencies.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to employees, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Address and resolve project-related conflicts and challenges effectively.
