Job summary

Kraus-Anderson Incorporated in Minnesota seeks a Project Coordinator/Team Leader to assist the Project Manager or Team Leader in planning, directing, and coordinating activities on designated projects. This role provides learning opportunities and may manage projects under supervision.

You will support scheduling, cost estimates, and relationships with clients and vendors while upholding KA safety and quality standards.KA University offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and regulations.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office) and knowledge of project management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews proposals, drawings, and plans to determine timeframe and resources.
  • Provides schedule support to preserve contract and project schedule.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Completes materials take-offs, establishes cost estimates, tracks procurement.
  • Outlines work plans, assigns duties, coordinates activities for budget and scope.
  • Reviews status reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
  • Coordinates activities with regulatory agencies.
  • Assists Safety Department in enforcing safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

This position will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager or Team Leader plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties. This position may be assigned their own projects to manage in a learning environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews project proposals, drawings, and plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly schedule support to project team to preserve the Contract and Project Schedule.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clients, subcontractors and related vendors.
  • Completes materials “take-offs”, establishes cost estimates, develops and tracks material procurement schedule.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority; coordinates activities with project staff to ensure project progress within prescribed budget and provides technical advice to resolve problems.
  • Establishes work plans and potential staffing for each phase of each project.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of governmental regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Completes work in accordance to the Kraus-Anderson (KA) Project Managers’ Manual.
  • Assist the Safety Department in an effort to enforce the corporate safety and health policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum 2-5 years related experience or equivalent of education and/or experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) and knowledge of project management software
  • Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Displays willingness to make decisions and includes the appropriate people within the decision making process
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related degree
  • Knowledge of ViewPoint software

  • Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Travel 25-75%; depending on job
Physical Demands
  • Clearly communicate information (both written and verbal) to colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Stand and/or sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time; 50%+
  • Use a computer/laptop/iPad in open office environment with natural and/or florescent lighting
  • Navigate between office building floors, and on occasion, attend off-site meetings
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Salary Range: $77,000 to $91,000 annually, plus discretionary incentive program.

Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs. (2025)
