Job summary

Staff Perm is seeking a Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2 Yard Truck Operator for the 2nd shift in Fort Worth, TX. This seasonal role requires safe operation of the yard truck to move trailers, perform inspections, and coordinate with dispatch.

You will open/close trailers, cut seals, and ensure proper trailer placement. Responsibilities include regular yard movements, seal audits, and maintaining records of trailer locations and movements, while adhering to DOT and OSHA safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License Class C.
• Experience operating yard trucks or similar equipment.
• Experience driving commercial tractors or yard trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2 yard truck to move trailers to and from dock doors and designated yard locations.
• Perform frequent trailer movements and conduct regular yard and seal audits.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch via radio or yard management software.
• Conduct daily inspections of yard equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to prioritize trailer movements and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Ensure proper trailer placement for loading and unloading activities.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations, movements, and status.
• Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Secure trailers by wheel chocking and verifying dock locks as required.
• Assist with basic yard organization, including staging and inventory tracking.
• Respond promptly to radio or system dispatch instructions.

Join our team as a skilled Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2 Yard Truck Operator on the 2nd shift, where your expertise in maneuvering specialized yard equipment will be essential to our facility's smooth operations.

As a Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2 Yard Truck Operator, you will be responsible for the precise and safe movement of trailers, containers, and equipment within our facility yard. You will operate the Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2 yard truck, following yard tasks assigned via a handheld device, and perform related duties such as opening and closing trailers, cutting seals, adjusting landing gear, and chalking wheels.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Drivers License Class C.
• Extensive experience driving commercial tractors or yard trucks, specifically operating yard trucks like the Kalmar Ottowa T2 4x2.
• Previous experience operating yard trucks, hostlers, or similar equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not required.
