Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking a Behavioral Program Specialist to support behavioral health needs in long-term care facilities. You will work with clinical staff to ensure best practices for documentation and coordinate care with facility staff and BHS clinicians.

The role requires prior SNF or Behavioral Health Unit experience, with travel throughout Kalispell and surrounding areas. Training with a remote Clinical Supervisor will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years in a behavioral health setting or educational equivalence.
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
• Moderate computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to write reports and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in IDT meetings with nursing facility staff and BHS clinicians.
• Audit charts to promote timely and accurate behavioral documentation.
• Clinical writing involving summarizing a patient’s behavioral record for submission to special needs program.
• Update tracking reports with approved and pending participants.

Job description

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking a hard-working, self-driven individual to join our behavioral team as a Behavioral Program Specialist. A behavioral specialist is a healthcare professional who is responsible for ensuring that patients receive the best possible care for their mental and behavioral health needs. The role of a behavioral program specialist involves working with the clinical staff at long-term care facilities to ensure best practices for maintaining adequate and accurate documentation of patient behavioral symptoms and conditions, coordinating care with facility staff and BHS clinicians, and summarizing patients' behavioral records for submission to special needs programs.

The ideal candidate will have already worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Behavioral Health Unit prior, providing a variety of services to patients/residents. CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, and similar personnel are encouraged to apply!

This position will train with and report to a remote Clinical Supervisor for oversight on all cases worked.

Job Type

• Full-Time, W2 Employment (Monday - Friday)
• Travel through the Kalispell and surrounding area is required, travel is compensated.

Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two years of experience working in a behavioral health setting or educational equivalence can be substituted for up to one year of work experience.
• Non-violent Crisis Prevention Training preferred. CPI Certification is a plus!
• Travel will be required.
• Moderate computer skills are required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and other professionals.
• Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Ability to write reports and clinical documentation.
