Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking a Behavioral Program Specialist or CNA to support geriatric behavioral health care in Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facilities in Bellingham and surrounding areas. The role involves coordinating care with clinical staff, documenting behavioral symptoms, and preparing records for programs.

The ideal candidate has prior SNF or behavioral health experience; travel to facilities in the region is required with some remote work parts of the week.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience working in a behavioral health setting as CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, or similar.
  • CP I Certification is a plus; Non-violent Crisis Prevention Training preferred.
  • Travel will be required and moderate computer skills are needed.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in IDT meetings with nursing facility staff and BHS clinicians.
  • Audit charts to promote timely and accurate behavioral documentation.
  • Summarize a patient’s behavioral records for submission to special needs programs.
  • Update tracking reports with approved and pending participants.
  • Handle administrative duties related to processing and tracking patients on the program.

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking a hard-working, self-driven individual to join our behavioral team as a Behavioral Program Specialist or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for theBellingham and surroundingareas. Our team of mental health treatment professionals specialize in providing comprehensive behavioral health services to the underserved geriatric population residing in Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facilities.

About the Role:

A behavioral specialist is a healthcare professional who is responsible for ensuring that patients receive the best possible care for their mental and behavioral health needs. The role of a behavioral program specialist involves working with the clinical staff at long-term care facilities to ensure best practices for maintaining adequate and accurate documentation of patient behavioral symptoms and conditions, coordinating care with facility staff and BHS clinicians, and summarizing patients' behavioral records for submission to special needs programs.

The ideal candidate will have already worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Behavioral Health Unit prior, providing a variety of services to patients/residents, CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, and similar personnel are encouraged to apply!

This position will train with and report to a remote Clinical Supervisor for oversight on all cases worked.

  • Clinical writing involving summarizing a patient's behavioral record for submission to special needs program?
  • Update tracking reports with approved and pending participants?
  • Administrative duties related to processing and tracking patients on special needs program
Job Type:
  • Full-Time, W2 Employment (Monday - Friday)
  • Travel through the Tacoma, Olympia, Shelton and Aberdeen area is required; travel is compensated.
  • 3 days traveling to facilities, 2 days working remotely.
Requirements:
  • COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two years of experience working in a behavioral health setting as CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, or similar. (Educational equivalence can be substituted for up to one year of work experience.)
  • Non-violent Crisis Prevention Training preferred. CPI Certification is a plus!
  • Travel will be required.
  • Moderate computer skills are required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and other professionals.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to write reports and clinical documentation.
