Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking a Behavioral Program Specialist or CNA to support geriatric patients in SNFs and LTC facilities in the Federal Way area. The role includes coordinating with clinical staff, ensuring accurate behavioural documentation, and summarising records for special needs programmes.

Ideal candidates have SNF or behavioural health experience and will train under a remote Clinical Supervisor, with travel to multiple facilities and some remote work days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in a behavioural health setting; educational equivalence can substitute up to one year.
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
• Travel required.
• CPI certification a plus; Non-violent Crisis Prevention training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in IDT meetings with nursing facility staff and BHS clinicians.
• Audit charts to promote timely and appropriate behavioural documentation.
• Prepare summaries of a patient’s behavioural records for submission to special needs programmes.
• Update tracking reports with approved and pending participants; perform administrative duties related to processing and tracking patients on the special needs program.

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking a hard-working, self-driven individual to join our behavioral team as a Behavioral Program Specialist or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Federal Way and surrounding areas. Our team of mental health treatment professionals specialise in providing comprehensive behavioural health services to the underserved geriatric population residing in Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facilities.

About the Role:

A behavioural specialist is a healthcare professional who is responsible for ensuring that patients receive the best possible care for their mental and behavioural health needs. The role of a behavioural program specialist involves working with the clinical staff at long-term care facilities to ensure best practices for maintaining adequate and accurate documentation of patient behavioural symptoms and conditions, coordinating care with facility staff and BHS clinicians, and summarising patients' behavioural records for submission to special needs programmes.

The ideal candidate will have already worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Behavioural Health Unit prior, providing a variety of services to patients/residents, CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, and similar personnel are encouraged to apply!

This position will train with and report to a remote Clinical Supervisor for oversight on all cases worked.

Job Type:

• Full-Time, W2 Employment (Monday - Friday)
• Travel through theTacoma, Olympia, Shelton and Aberdeenarea is required; travel is compensated.
• 3 days travelling to facilities, 2 days working remotely.

Requirements:

• COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two years of experience working in a behavioural health setting as CNAs, BHTs, Medical Assistants, or similar. (Educational equivalence can be substituted for up to one year of work experience.)
• Non-violent Crisis Prevention Training preferred. CPI Certification is a plus!
• Travel will be required.
• Moderate computer skills are required, experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and other professionals.
• Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Ability to write reports and clinical documentation.
