Job summary

The Walt Disney Company via KABC-TV in Los Angeles invites applications for NABET Maintenance Engineers on an as-needed basis. You will maintain broadcast systems, troubleshoot live operations, and support ENG and remote productions to keep on-air workflows running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in broadcast maintenance or systems engineering, with strong IP networking and RF knowledge, and flexibility for varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of broadcast maintenance or related technical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting across video (SDI/IP), audio, RF, and control systems.
• Experience with broadcast infrastructure such as routers, servers, automation, and playback systems.
• Working knowledge of IP networking and file-based/media workflows.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

KABC-TV, the ABC Owned Television station in Los Angeles, is seeking skilled NABET Maintenance Engineers for as-needed employment. These positions will support critical broadcast and production systems powering one of the nation’s leading local news operations.

What You Will Do

• Maintain and support broadcast technical systems including cameras, production switchers, routers, intercom, RF/audio systems, and transmission equipment

• Experience with major broadcast vendors (e.g., Ross, Evertz, Panasonic, Adobe)

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Broadcast Technology, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience

Additional Information

• Work is performed in a broadcast facility environment and may include physical activity such as lifting equipment and working in technical spaces
• Overtime may be available as station needs and scheduling allow

This position is covered under the NABET-CWA ABC Master Agreement. The pay rate for this role in Glendale, California is $65.1875 per hour.
