Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Arizona Guidance Counselor Certification (K-12) required.
• Master's degree in Counseling or CSW/MSW from an accredited college.
• Experience preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of professional learning communities.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work under time constraints.
• Team player with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assists students in evaluating strengths and weaknesses so they can set goals beyond elementary years.
• Provides counseling to promote personal growth, self-understanding and maturity.
• Establishes a line of communication between the school and the home.
• Supports the school's Tier 1 behavioral program.
• Guides teachers and student teachers in dealing with student learning or personal problems.
• Maintains student records and FERPA compliance.
• Collaborates with MTSS, 504, IEP teams and parents.
• Delivers social-emotional interventions with teachers and parents.
• Develops and implements a guidance program aligned with state standards.
