Job summary

Tempe Elementary School District No. 3 is seeking a Counselor Coordinator to provide guidance curriculum, student planning, responsive services and system support to students, parents, teachers and administrators.

The role aims to promote academic, career, and social/personal growth for all students. The position requires a Master Degree and Arizona Guidance Counselor Certificate, with experience in coordinating with classroom staff and supporting diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• Master degree required for counseling
• Arizona Guidance Counselor Certificate required
• Experience in school setting preferred
• Knowledge of special education laws and compliance standards
• Ability to coordinate with teachers and specialists
• Ability to work with diverse student populations
• Ability to travel between locations as assigned
• CPR/First Aid/NCI certifications may be required
• Experience with IEP development and evaluation
• Maintain records of counseling services and contacts

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching to school counselors aligned to district goals
• Visit schools to coach counselors and give feedback
• Collaborate with district leaders to support counselor performance
• Provide coaching and support for individual and group counseling
• Facilitate classroom counseling guidance programs
• Build trusted relationships to support student social and emotional needs
• Communicate student needs to parents and staff
• Lead prevention and intervention programs and parent groups
• Maintain records for compliance and Medicaid as applicable
• Participate in district crisis team as needed
