Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR 48 college hours with 2 years teaching experience.
• Active Tennessee state licensure and certification.

• Understanding of childhood development and steps to support children of various ages.
• Ability to communicate with teachers and parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Strong organizational skills to aid in preparing materials for several daily lesson plans.
• Personal accountability and patience when working with children daily in a classroom environment.
• Ability to prioritize activities quickly and support the teacher when busy.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate and coordinate with the instructor to assist in daily lesson plans.
• Aid in preparing materials for projects, including art and science.
• Provide individual assistance to children in small groups to ensure understanding of concepts.
• Strictly adhere to the school's rules and policies and ensure student safety.
• Assist teachers in reviewing, grading and recording homework and tests.
• Maintain, observe and assess each student's progress through assessments and identify students needing more one-on-one guidance.
