Job summary

Horizons K-8 School in south Boulder is seeking teacher substitutes to join Horizons K8 team. The substitute will instruct students and facilitate learning in the absence of the regular teacher while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff.

The position is paid hourly at $21.25/hr as an as-needed role. Requires a valid substitute license (or licensure in progress), a high school diploma or GED, and completion of required background checks; applicants must

Qualifications

• Valid and current substitute license (or licensure in progress)
• High school diploma, completion of GED, or equivalent
• Background screening and CBI fingerprints completed
• Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Completed Horizons K-8 online application

Responsibilities

• Instructs students and facilitates learning in the absence of the regular teacher
• Provide coverage for teachers who are absent
• Communicate effectively with students
• Incorporate understanding and appreciation for diversity into instruction
• Utilize time, materials, and resources to maximize learning time
• Create and manage a safe and orderly classroom
• Implement lesson plans developed by the licensed teacher
