Job summary

Matchbook Learning is seeking a dedicated K–8 Special Education Teacher to join our Special Education Team at Wendell Phillips School 63 in Indianapolis. You will partner with students with disabilities, families, and general education staff to ensure every learner gets needed supports in a small, mission-driven school.

The role emphasizes collaboration, compliance with IDEA/504, and data-informed instruction, with strong professional development and a clear growth path within the SPED team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Deliver specially designed instruction in inclusion and pull-out settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support access to the curriculum.
• Participate in IEP meetings, MTSS processes, and case conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, services, and parent communication.
• Use data to inform instruction and set goals.
• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with families and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and IDOE requirements.
• Engage in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
