Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Surprise, AZ to support students with disabilities through IEP-guided instruction and collaboration with school teams.

You will provide specialized instruction in either Elementary Resource or Middle School STC-2 settings, use evidence-based strategies, monitor progress, and maintain IEP documentation while coordinating with families and related staff for inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Arizona Special Education Certification (ADE) is required.
• Active Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification.
• Experience implementing IEPs with differentiated instruction and collaborative service delivery.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

• Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and curriculum modifications to students with disabilities in alignment with IEP goals, services, and individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, administrators, related service providers, and support staff to promote inclusive instruction and student success.
• Support students in either an Elementary Resource or a Middle School structured, self-contained (STC-2) classroom, using evidence-based instructional strategies, visual supports, and appropriate curriculum resources.
• Monitor student progress, maintain IEP-related documentation and data, and implement individualized accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid Arizona Special Education Certification (ADE); alternative teaching certifications are not accepted
• Active Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to obtain and maintain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs through IEP implementation, differentiated instruction, and collaborative service delivery
