Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate's degree, preferably including coursework in working with children in an educational setting.
• In lieu of item 1, must possess both a high school diploma or GED and a passing score on a qualifying assessment for reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Must understand child development principles and behavior management; experience with disabled children is desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students; use basic office equipment.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in academic instruction by working with small groups or individual students under teacher direction.
• Reinforce instruction, monitor tasks, and assist with assignments and projects.
• Implement and monitor behavior plans; support students with daily living skills.
• Provide classroom support, set up work areas, and help with materials.
