Salary Range: $47,000.00 To $52,000.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The Webster Site Coordinator is responsible for the administration, coordination, and supervision of the English Language Learner (ELL) Tutors, as well as the oversight of ELL afterschool programming for students grades K-3 at John H. Webster (Webster) Elementary. The Webster Site Coordinator will develop and implement lesson plans for elementary aged youth, with intentional supports for English Language Learners (ELLs) that promote language acquisition, academic vocabulary development, confidence, and meaningful participation. Lesson plans will concentrate on ELL support, ELA language arts, math, science, political science, health, arts, recreation, or life skills. The Webster Site Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of program students, facilitating workshops and activities, and supporting the ELL Tutors with program implementation.

This position reports to the Exito K-3 Literacy Leader. This is an ON-SITE position with time spent primarily at the assigned school, and at Congreso’s office building.

  • Ensures overall program progress in the achievement of service objectives, and directs appropriate actions, or implements changes in the afterschool program to ensure the compliance of contractual obligations and accomplishment of program goals.
  • Provides ELL student support by incorporating culturally responsive, linguistically accessible strategies, including visual supports, scaffolded instruction, academic vocabulary practice, small-group support, and opportunities for students to build speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Collaborates with the Exito K-3 Literacy Leader, school staff, families, and Congreso program staff to identify ELL student needs, monitor progress, connect students and families to appropriate resources, and ensure programming is welcoming and accessible for multilingual learners.
  • Coordinates weekly supportive staff meetings and daily debriefings to discuss concerns, program development, staff relations, and personal challenges.
  • Maintains weekly check in’s with school staff to receive referrals and promote afterschool program.
  • Attends and participate in school meetings as needed to promote afterschool program.
  • Delivers blended, engaging virtual and in-person programing to students.
  • Maintains and inventories equipment and supplies.
  • Serves as a liaison between school staff and Congreso staff regarding use and maintenance of building, custodian and teacher relations, and administrative support.
  • Participates in the formulation of program goals and objectives and administers program to meet such goals.
  • Maintains accurate attendance records and completes data entry forms.
  • Forms and maintains positive and supportive relationships with participants’ parents through monthly parent contact.
  • Assists in the preparation of program concepts, curriculum and proposals for continuation of grants, and new funding opportunities.
  • Makes relevant client referrals to internal Congreso programs and/or external resources.

  • Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services as required, including relevant professional groups to maintain professional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
  • Attends, participates, and facilitates relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
  • Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups, in a compassionate, courteous, and respectful manner that fosters an inclusive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills a MUST.
  • Knowledge of English Language Learner supports, including differentiated instruction, language development strategies, culturally responsive engagement, and effective communication with multilingual students and families.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position supervises 3 ELL Tutors.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required. Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Human Services field required; Bachelor’s degree a plus. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • 3 years’ relevant experience in an afterschool or education setting required.
  • 1-2 years’ supervisory experience is preferred.
Certification/License

Mandated Reporter and VRA training certificates required and may be completed post hire.
