Job summary

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden, Massachusetts, seeks a knowledgeable Reading Specialist to oversee the Reading Intervention Program for K–8 students. You will analyze performance data, identify students needing support, and deliver evidence-based instruction aligned with our curriculum.

This 11-month, full-time position reports to the K–8 Assistant Directors and requires collaboration with teachers, families, and school leadership to strengthen literacy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Reading, Literacy, or related field.
• Massachusetts Reading Specialist license or eligibility preferred.
• Minimum three years' experience in reading intervention or literacy instruction.

Responsibilities

• Identify students needing reading intervention using assessments and data.
• Develop individualized and small-group intervention plans to improve reading.
• Provide direct reading intervention for K–8, focusing on K–6.
• Monitor progress with assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain fidelity to approved instructional programs and collaborate with staff.
• Prepare quarterly progress reports and communicate with families.
