Job summary

Pillars Academy is seeking a passionate Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Teacher to deliver hands-on, project-based STEM learning for K-8 students. You will implement PLTW Launch (K-5) and Gateway (6-8) curricula, fostering inquiry and problem-solving in young learners.

The ideal candidate will create a curious, collaborative classroom that integrates engineering, computer science, and biomedical science principles while preparing students for future STEM opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM-related field, or related discipline.
• Valid teaching license (or eligibility) with STEM endorsements preferred.
• Completion of PLTW Core Training for Launch and/or Gateway.
• Experience teaching STEM and project-based learning in K-8 settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PLTW lessons aligned with program standards for K-8.
• Implement PLTW Launch (K-5) and Gateway (6-8) curricula with real-world activities.
• Foster a student-centered environment encouraging collaboration and critical thinking.
• Utilize technology and engineering tools to enhance STEM learning.
• Assess progress and adjust instruction to support student growth.
• Maintain PLTW equipment and classroom resources safely and organized.
• Collaborate with leadership and partners to expand STEM opportunities.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and STEM initiatives.
• Complete PLTW training and professional development to maintain certification.
