Job summary

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden, MA is seeking a K–8 Physical Education Teacher to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate PE instruction that promotes fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits.

The teacher will plan sequential lessons aligned with approved curricula, monitor progress, and collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience teaching physical education, coaching youth sports, or leading organized youth activities preferred.
• Successful MTEL requirements within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate physical education lessons aligned with school-approved curricula and the Core Knowledge sequence.
• Teach movement skills, fitness concepts, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment for active participation and skill development.
• Adapt instructional activities for varying abilities and needs.
• Establish expectations for behavior, safety, and participation.
• Monitor and assess student progress and development.
• Maintain organized instructional spaces and schedules.
