Job summary

Detroit Merit Charter Academy, part of National Heritage Academies, is seeking a Title I paraprofessional to support K-8 students. You will assist with reading, writing, and math, provide 1:1 or small-group interventions, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment.

Prior school-age experience is preferred; strong tech skills and the ability to navigate instructional systems are valued. The role includes professional development, coaching opportunities, and being part of a caring

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for Title I paraprofessional.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
• Understanding of and capability to navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance for students in need of academic intervention through 1:1 or group workshops as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
• Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
