Job summary

Kingdom East Unified Union School District Burke Town School - West Burke, Vermont is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students from kindergarten through eighth grade, with emphasis on kindergarten through second grade. The IA will assist teachers, support learning, and help manage behavior in a caring school community.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children with special learning needs and must complete the ParaPro assessment or higher degree.

Qualifications

• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Must complete ParaPro assessment or higher degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classrooms ranging kindergarten through eighth grade, likely K–2 assignments.
• Support growth in academic, social, emotional and behavioral skills.
• Work with classroom teachers and/or special education case managers under district direction.
