Job summary

Moravian Academy in Allentown, PA, seeks a Health & Physical Education Teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade. You will develop physical literacy, support holistic student growth, and collaborate with health colleagues to craft age-appropriate wellness conversations.

You'll lead dynamic PE classes, promote inclusivity, and partner with counselors and educators to advance movement, wellness, and joyful learning at the center of a great education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience teaching health and/or physical education to elementary or middle school-aged students
• Deep understanding of youth physical, social, and emotional development
• An inclusive, student-centered teaching philosophy - you make every student feel capable
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues
• Preferred: Master's degree; PA Department of Education certification in Health & PE
• Preferred: Coaching experience and/or background in athletic program coordination
• Required: Pennsylvania Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances prior to hire

Responsibilities

• Build physical literacy and tend to the whole person in collaboration with health colleagues to develop curriculum for middle school-aged students
• Lead dynamic, inclusive PE classes that celebrate fitness and teach teamwork through action
• Collaborate with school counselors, learning support specialists, and fellow educators to support holistic student growth
• Engage in age-appropriate conversations about wellness, identity, and decision-making within the health education scope
