Job summary

Moravian Academy’s Swain Campus in Allentown, PA is seeking a Health & Physical Education Teacher for Kindergarten through 8th grade. You will build physical literacy, promote wellness, and guide students through age-appropriate conversations about health, identity, and decision-making.

You will collaborate with school counselors and learning support staff to create inclusive, student-centered lessons and foster strong communication with families and interdisciplinary colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience teaching health and/or physical education to elementary or middle school-aged students.
• Deep understanding of youth physical, social, and emotional development.
• An inclusive, student-centered teaching philosophy — you make every student feel capable.
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
• Preferred: Master's degree; PA Department of Education certification in Health & PE.
• Preferred: Coaching experience and/or background in athletic program coordination.
• Required: Pennsylvania Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Build physical literacy and tend to the whole person through health and physical education.
• Collaborate with health colleagues to develop curriculum for middle school students with age-appropriate wellness conversations.
• Deliver dynamic, inclusive PE classes that celebrate fitness and teamwork and ensure no student sits on the sidelines.
