Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a Paraprofessional for Inkster Preparatory Academy in Inkster, Michigan. The role supports teachers, helps promote positive student behavior, and assists with classroom activities and school events.

The Paraprofessional provides oversight for student safety, helps with clerical tasks, and assists in using classroom technology while upholding the school’s philosophy and mission.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required or successful completion of Para Professional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with classroom activities and promote positive student behavior.
• Provide oversight for student safety and school climate during activities.
• Support with parent relations and school events as directed by teachers and leaders.
• Perform clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assist with classroom technology use and maintain cleanliness in classrooms and lunchroom.
• Respond to duties including field trips, morning/dismissal/lunch duty as assigned.
