ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at Canton College Preparatory School in Canton, Ohio. The role supports the teacher with classroom activities and helps promote positive student behaviors, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

The position requires an associate degree or two years of college, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to lift 25–40 lbs. A Paraprofessional Exam or equivalent may be required, with opportunities to engage in school events and collaborate

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Understanding and ability to manage confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups.
• Helps plan classroom activities as directed by the Teacher and supports parent relations.
• Assists with school activities (parent nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading papers, making copies).
• Assists the Teacher in the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other areas.
• Upholds the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties including field trips, morning/dismissal/lunch duties.
