Challenge Preparatory Charter School in Far Rockaway, NY is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support instruction and assess student growth across grades K-12.

You will work with small groups, reinforce content, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with families and staff. This is a full-time twelve-month role with competitive salary and benefits, requiring Teaching Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of students to assist in reaching IEP goals
• Teach, review, and reinforce academic content
• Keep accurate & organized records of student information
• Assist in classroom setup and logistics – prep student materials or manipulatives
• Support in student behavioral management and de-escalating challenging behaviors
• Collaborate with families and staff to support student learning
• Ensure the safety of students at all times
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom as needed
• Administrative, task-based support for teachers and operations staff
• Additional responsibilities to meet the needs of our students
