Qualifications

• Special education principles and differentiated instruction across academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs.
• Development and monitoring of IEPs and BIPs with integrated goals.
• Data-informed progress monitoring and collaboration with school staff.

Responsibilities

• Applies special education principles and differentiated instruction across academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs.
• Conducts assessments and diagnostic monitoring to identify student needs and implement teaching strategies.
• Develops IEPs and BIPs with integrated academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
• Delivers direct instruction and supports staff in implementing IEPs and BIPs, including de-escalation and self-regulation.
• Uses data systems to inform IEP/BIP goal-setting and progress monitoring.
• Collaborates with colleagues to align behavioral and mental health supports school-wide.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices in behavior support and trauma-informed instruction.
• Maintains accurate records per special education procedures.
• Builds partnerships with parents/guardians for consistency between home and school.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding special education.
