Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon TSPC School Counselor license (or eligible before start).
• Experience providing mental health or SEL support in schools.
• Ability to assess and teach social/behavioral skills to young children.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, professional communication with students, staff, families.
• Comfort with technology and shared document tools.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain non-aversive crisis prevention/intervention certification.
• Willingness to follow board policy and pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable commute to Portland, OR or relocate.

Responsibilities

• Direct student support: provide short-term individual and small group skill building and promote emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and safety.
• Family and community connection: connect families to mental health, housing, food, medical resources and assist with referrals.
• Staff partnership: coach teachers on interventions, de-escalation, and MTSS/RTI team participation.
• Systems and records: maintain confidential records in Synergy and support MTSS/PBIS.
• Other duties as assigned, contributing to school operations as needed.
