Job summary

Denver Public Schools in Colorado is seeking a Long-Term Substitute teacher to deliver standard-based instruction when the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period. You will plan lessons, assess student progress, and maintain classroom routines to support student growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
Valid Colorado teaching license (CDE) required or acceptable application receipt for 90 days.
Commitment to equitable education and supporting all students.
Located with permanent Colorado residence.

Responsibilities

Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
Monitors and enforces classroom behavior per district policy.
Observes, evaluates, and records student performance and development.
Prepares lesson outlines, objectives, and materials per curriculum guidelines.
Establishes clear learning objectives for lessons and projects.
Uses diverse teaching methods and technology to reach different learners.
Instructs students individually and in groups.
Prepares, administers, and grades tests and reports grades.
Maintains attendance and activity records as required.
Communicates with parents/guardians and staff to resolve academic or behavioral issues.
