Job summary

Bullis School in Potomac, MD seeks a full-time Lower School Librarian for the 2026-27 year to lead a K–5 library program and foster a love of reading. The librarian will teach information literacy, support classroom learning, manage the print collection, and plan author visits and book clubs.

This 10-month position reports to the Head of Lower School and offers a competitive salary and generous benefits. Master’s in Library Science and Follett Destiny experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of children’s literature and literacy development.
• Experience with library management software and digital resources.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture and love of reading in the Lower School.
• Develop and implement a K–5 library scope and sequence for research skills.
• Instruct students in library tools and digital resources.
• Support classroom literacy instruction and research projects.
• Plan author visits, book clubs, displays, and other programs.
