Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support a K-5 classroom of 12-22 students at UCP Seminole Campus in Lake Mary, FL. The role involves implementing lesson plans, preparing instructional materials, and assisting with assessments and progress monitoring.

You will document academic progress with authentic observations, apply consistent behavior management, and perform paraprofessional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• G.E.D. or High School Diploma.
• DCF 45 hour within 90 days of hire if doing after care/summer or camp.
• CRP/First Aid Training.

Responsibilities

• Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher's direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform Paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
• Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
• Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
