Job summary

Delton Kellogg Elementary School is seeking a patient, tolerant, and flexible Building Substitute Teacher to provide daily classroom coverage and instructional support for grades K-5. This role ensures uninterrupted student learning when the regular teacher is absent.

The substitute will follow lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom environment, and support students' academic and social-emotional needs while collaborating with teachers and staff across the building.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction following lesson plans prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Adapt to various grade levels and subject areas as needed throughout the school day or week.
• Support the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to promote student success.
• Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and procedures.
