Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home and online tutoring company serving San Diego, California. We hire certified teachers or those pursuing Education degrees to deliver personalized tutoring across all K-12 subjects.

As a tutor, you will provide academic support aligned with the state curriculum, assign supplemental work, communicate progress to parents, and tailor instruction to individual student needs in a flexible, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• California teaching certificate or equivalent.
• Current student teacher pursuing teaching certificate.
• Two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher.
• Experience as lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College.
• Master’s/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote a greater understanding of the material.
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students.
• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
• Provide a customized approach tailored to the individual needs of each student.
