Job summary

The TemPositions Group is seeking an Elementary School Paraprofessional to support K-5 students in the Fairfield County area. You will assist lead teachers with instructional activities and provide targeted support to diverse learners in a structured classroom environment.

Candidates should have an Associate's Degree or higher (or HS diploma with 2+ years in a paraprofessional role) and be willing to undergo fingerprinting for a background check.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher preferred, OR HS diploma with at least 2 years of experience in a Substitute Teacher or Paraprofessional role.
• Must be willing to be fingerprinted for background check.

Responsibilities

• Instructional & Classroom Support: Assist in delivering planned instructional activities and using curriculum resources under lead teacher guidance.
• Small Group & Individual Help: Tutor and support elementary students on an individual or small-group basis to help meet school-wide goals.
• Climate & Behavior Management: Help maintain a positive educational climate and manage student behavior using approved disciplinary procedures.
• Diverse Learning Support: Reflect and support diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds in curricula.
• Collaboration: Work with teachers and program coordinators to ensure educational initiatives are met.
• Administrative Duties: Assist with preparing learning materials, grading papers, and other tasks to keep the classroom running smoothly.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and stay updated on education topics.

Education

Associate's Degree or higher

HS diploma + 2 years paraprofessional/substitute experience
