Job summary

Movement Schools in Georgia seeks a dedicated K-5 Adapted Curriculum Teacher to deliver rigorous instruction aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence Extended Content Standards, supporting scholars on the GAA 2.0 track. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Adapted Curriculum, or related field.
• GaPSC Induction/Professional or Provisional certificate in Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12).
• Passing score on the GACE Special Education Adapted Curriculum content assessment.
• Passing score on the GACE Ethics for Teachers Assessment.
• GaPSC Rule 505-2-.42 clearance (Georgia) and FBI background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned K-5 instruction grounded in the Georgia Standards of Excellence Extended Content Standards and GAA 2.0 track.
• Design individualized instruction to build communication, functional academics, independence, and life skills.
• Use evidence-based practices for scholars with significant cognitive disabilities.
• Develop and monitor IEPs with goals, services, accommodations, and progress reporting.
• Lead IEP meetings and coordinate with families and outside providers.
• Support school operations during non-instructional blocks and assist with family engagement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Adapted Curriculum, or related field
