Job summary

Collegium Charter School seeks a Teacher, Emotional Support (K-4 Supplemental) to proactively support students' social and emotional development and assist teachers in crafting plans for student success. The role requires adapting general curriculum to meet individual needs and implementing behavioral supports.

The incumbent will collaborate with teachers and families, manage data for progress, and ensure compliance with school codes and policies while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• PA Special Education (PK-8) certification required; if from another state, PA certification must be obtained within a set time frame.
• Four-year college degree and demonstrated impact on student achievement.
• Competence in special education teaching and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to set priorities and adapt to change.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiation based on learning styles.
• Clearances (Act 34, Act 151, FBI) dated within one year.
• Meets criteria for PA Public School employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion.
• Determine student progress by collecting and monitoring data.
• Coordinate and facilitate parent meetings.
• Understand and implement empirically supported behavioral interventions.
• Establish instructional/learning environment to reinforce appropriate student behavior.
• Develop and adapt instructional activities per students' IEP goals.
• Submit reports aligned with IEP review meetings.
• Enforce CCS Student Code of Conduct, CCS Uniform Code, and CCS Computer Usage Code.
• Promote good citizenship and act as a positive role model.
• Maintain confidentiality of school and student information, progress, and records.
• Abide by CCS Employee Manual and policies; perform other duties as assigned.
