Job summary

Liberty School District 53 Lewis & Clark Elementary in Liberty, Missouri is seeking a part-time Reading Tutor Paraprofessional to provide literacy support to K-3 students under established curriculum guidelines.

The role involves assessing reading skills, supervising students, and collaborating with staff to respond to inquiries about student progress. It is a 2-day-per-week position with a starting date in August and a pay rate of $15.83–$19.87 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• DESE approved paraprofessional test or substitute certificate.
• Experience supporting literacy in K-3 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Applies scripted reading interventions for phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency.
• Assists with selecting appropriate interventions for caseload students.
• Collaborates with instructional staff to improve student outcomes and program objectives.
• Conducts literacy benchmark assessments and tracks progress to place students in or out of the program.
• Maintains confidential and non-confidential records per state guidelines.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
