Job summary

Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to work in local Wisconsin schools, helping students build reading skills through proven activities and coaching support.

Each school day you’ll tutor small groups for 20 minutes, follow a fixed schedule, and track student progress with data software. AmeriCorps members receive coaching, training, and a biweekly stipend up to $17/hour, plus education benefits and coverage options.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring sessions with students and following a schedule to ensure ongoing support.
• Lead tutoring sessions and track student progress as directed by onsite coach.
• Enter student scores into data software and monitor improvements.
• Participate in coaching and training to support professional growth.
• Share experiences with the community and contribute to program success.
