Job summary

University of Notre Dame's Tutor-CogSci Collaborative seeks a Tutor to work with K-3 students in Gary, IN, delivering structured, evidence-based literacy tutoring in 1-on-1 or small-group settings. You will join a collaborative community with researchers, faculty, and peers to accelerate learning and build strong mentor relationships.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with K-3 students and helping them reach academic potential.
• Ability to build supportive, consistent connections with tutees and school partners.
• Willingness to receive feedback and engage in instructional coaching.
• Ability to work in both in-person and virtual settings.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, evidence-based literacy instruction in 1-on-1 or small group formats.
• Build a positive environment that honors student voice and fosters growth.
• Participate in team meetings and onboarding with safety/methodology training.
• Monitor student learning and contribute to progress reports.
• Support curriculum refinement and potential educational research projects.
