Job summary

University of Notre Dame is seeking tutors for the Tutor-CogSci Collaborative. You will work with K-3 students in one-on-one or small-group settings, delivering evidence-based literacy instruction as part of a collaborative design community of tutors, researchers, and faculty.

You'll receive full training on high-quality tutoring principles and safety; opportunities include curriculum development, peer observations, and contributing to student progress reports.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring youth in educational settings.
• Strong interpersonal communication and ability to use basic educational tech.
• Ability to commute to designated school partner sites in Gary, IN.
• Commitment to research-based tutoring practices and student growth.
• Willingness to participate in onboarding and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, evidence-based literacy instruction in 1-on-1 or small groups.
• Foster positive, encouraging student relationships and growth.
• Participate in team meetings and instructional coaching with faculty.
• Track progress and contribute to progress reports using data.
• Contribute to curriculum refinement and educational research projects (optional).
