Job summary

Peach Springs Unified School District 8 is seeking an experienced elementary classroom teacher to support diverse learners in a native community setting. Under the supervision of the Principal, you will implement district-approved curriculum, assess student progress, and provide targeted instruction.

Qualifications include Arizona State Teaching Certification and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education; Masters preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: Teaching License
• Arizona State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
• Arizona State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred
• I.V.P. Security Clearance Card
• Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline
• Master's Degree in related area preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
• Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws and procedures.
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or meetings, or by conducting research.
