Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Phoenix, AZ seeks a K-2 Music Substitute to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction within the Great Hearts curriculum. You will manage classrooms, support students’ musical development, and partner with staff to maintain a joyful learning environment.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree and can obtain US work authorization; certification is not required for general education. Some travel for events may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for lead teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.
• US work authorization required; OPT/CPT accepted.
• Some travel may be required for events and field trips.
• Travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned K-2 Music classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, maintaining an engaging, orderly classroom.
• Provide academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership as needed.
• Uphold Great Hearts policies and expectations, including safety procedures and professional conduct.
• Communicate clearly with families and foster strong home–school partnerships.
