Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide for Solon Academy in Solon, Ohio. The role supports the teacher, promotes positive student behavior, ensures safety, and assists with activities and clerical tasks.

You will help with student relations, classroom technology, and field trips as assigned. Must meet Paraprofessional requirements and pass background checks; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or passing the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Successfully complete a background check (BCI/FBI).
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports teacher and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities such as events, assemblies, fundraisers, and field trips.
• Performs clerical duties: grading papers and making copies.
• Assists with classroom technology usage and maintenance.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom, lunchroom, and other areas.
• Represents and implements the school’s philosophy and mission in activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including duty coverage.
