Job summary

Devereux in Reading, PA is seeking an Elementary School Special Education Teacher for Grades K-2 to deliver specialized instruction within the Reading School District. The role emphasizes coordinating IEP services and evaluating student progress.

The position is 10 months, Monday through Friday, 7:45am–3:15pm, with 3 front-loaded days off at hire. Starting salary ranges from $55,000 to $66,500, depending on experience, education, and licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related degree required.
• Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• Emergency certification provided if not obtained prior to starting employment.
• Previous Special Education Teacher experience strongly preferred; student teaching experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction to Elementary school students.
• Establish a supportive learning environment.
• Evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives.
• Provide guidance to support staff.
• Coordinate delivery of special education services in each student’s IEP.
• Schedule: 10-month position: M-F 7:45am - 3:15pm; 3 front-loaded days off at time of hire.
